Welcome to my website
I am a political scientist at the Centre for Democracy Studies Aarau (ZDA), University of Zürich. My research sits at the intersection of comparative politics, constitutional law, and computational social science - from mapping referendums and citizens’ initiatives across Europe to studying political communication, digital democracy, and civic participation. For more, see my Bio.
Research interests
- Comparative politics & constitutional design (cross-national comparative work on direct democracy, citizens’ initiatives, and the agenda initiative; earlier work on comparative federalism)
- Political behaviour & attitudes (voting behaviour, political dimensionality, and the formation of political attitudes)
- Political communication (voting advice applications, election campaign analysis, and computational text analysis of political and policy content)
- Digital politics & emerging technologies (internet voting, e-participation, and decentralised governance via blockchain technologies)
- Deliberative democracy & civic participation (citizen deliberative forums, participatory budgeting, and civic engagement in sustainable transitions)
